MEMRS®: Marine Electromagnetic Remote Sensing

CSEM inversion CSEM migration

TechnoImaging's EMVision®1 provides 3D modeling, 3D inversion and 3D migration services for marine electromagnetic surveys, including the following survey types:
  • Towed transmitter with fixed ocean bottom receiver (e.g., CSEM)
  • Towed transmitter and towed receivers with fixed offset (e.g., towed streamer)
  • Fixed transmitter with towed receivers (e.g., marine electromagnetic remote sensing – MEMRS®1)
  • Fixed transmitter with fixed receivers (e.g., multi-transient electromagnetics)

EMVision® can be used to simulate or interpret marine CSEM data for full field exploration and appraisal models, and/or dynamic reservoir models for time-lapse CSEM. TechnoImaging can also provide CSEM data processing and conditioning services.

EMVision® can simulate and invert upon 3D resistivity models of arbitrary complexity, including bathymetry and anisotropic resistivity. 3D a priori resistivity models constructed from seismic interpretations can be included in both inversion and migration.

EMVision® can model, invert and migrate both frequency- and time-domain inline and azimuthal CSEM data for any of the above listed CSEM survey types.

TechnoImaging has developed CSEM case studies to demonstrate how it is practical to rigorously invert both 2D and 3D CSEM surveys for 3D resistivity models with approximately one million cells within a day.

EMVision® incorporates TechnoImaging's focusing regularized inversion that enables the recovery of models with sharp conductivity contrasts, rather than models with smooth conductivity distributions. Coupled with fast run-times, this enables multiple inversion scenarios to be explored so as to minimize 3D model uncertainty.

EMVision® supports data formats from PGS, WesternGeco, EMGS and OHM, and industry standard earth model formats used by Petrel2 and GoCad/SKUA3.

EMVision® also enables Internet-hosted 3D CSEM modeling, inversion and migration on TechnoImaging's high performance computing resources.

TechnoImaging is able to provide short courses and training on 3D CSEM modeling, inversion and migration.
